Groundbreaking news at conference
As several hundred representatives from the European wind energy sector gathered in Denmark for the Wind Energy 2024 Conference Y-MatTec CEO Elo Yde was invited to give his presentation on the World’s first-ever Ultra-High-Performance-Concrete with carbon capture properties.
The Y-MatTec G800ECO® is patent filed and currently being processed with EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) expected to be published before the end of 2024.
The groundbreaking grouting material with unique carbon capture properties will revolutionize our on- and offshore industry and offer a much welcomed greener choice.
As the first UHPC-company globally Y-MatTec has developed a method to supply +10% biochar material from Power-to-X pyrolysis processing into the grout material. The biochar will subsequently reduce the amount of cement in the grout material and the Ultra-High-Performance-Concrete foundations will come with a lighter carbon footprint.
The Y-MatTec G800ECO® is a showcase of innovative thinking from a young – yet highly experienced – company. Y-MatTec was established only 3 years ago in 2021. Nonetheless Y-MatTec grout material for Ultra-High-Performance-Concrete foundations has passed the test with global industry-leading manufacturers such as Vestas and Siemens-Gamesa. Y-MatTec grout material has laid the foundations for +2,000 wind turbines worldwide already.
On the Wind Energy 2024 Conference innovation was a general and key message for the Danish and European green energy sector to stay competitive in the global market with significant challenges ahead.
In his presentation Y-MatTec CEO Elo Yde brought G800ECO samples for the audience to have a closer look: What breaking news look and feels like in the UHPC-industry:
“I did expect the audience to be rather curious about the first-ever carbon capture UHPC grout material – and I was by no means disappointed. It seems that the Danish and European wind energy industry is genuinely trying to improve and ease their carbon footprint in the green transition. I believe many see G800ECO® as a green alternative with no compromise to strength.
